Students create 75–100 solutions for one particular word or topic of their choice. Later, they curate the best 25 iterations and present them through an experimental book that supports their concept. This project encourages playing, risk taking and experimentation. Students learn about endurance, time management, organization and resourcefulness. Students are asked to take into consideration design principles and how they affect an image’s meaning: alignment, symmetry, asymmetry, repetition, anomaly, proximity, continuation, correspondence, comparison, framing, scale, layers.
